Taj Juma Masjid is a prominent place of worship in Kottayam town. The Masjid provides spiritual guidance for the Muslim community residing in and around Kottayam town. The Nombuthura function held in the Masjid during the Ramadan month is very prominent. The construction of the Mosque started in 1959 and was completed in 1964. Taj Juma Masjid situated in the heart of Kottayam town is the result of selfless and dedicated hard work of present and late members of the Jama-Athe. The Masjid was dedicated to the Muslim community by the first President of the Jama-Athe Haji Abdul Karim Sahib. Alhaj P.P Ahmed Alim Sahim functioned as the Imam from 1964 till his death in 1993. The whole Jama-Athe is thankful to him for his glorious service.
